Comfort Dolls

I have been wanting to contribute to Pat Winter's Comfort Doll Project for a long time but life got in the way!!!!
Well I finally had a chance to work on some dolls and here they are....
Beading dolls is so relaxing and I enjoyed every minute. I hope to do more in the future. It gives me such a warm fuzzy feeling to know someone somewhere will hold one of these dolls and know someone out there loves and cares about them......
Thanks Pat for this opportunity.

A Fun Time at Retreat.....cont'd

The machine I brought to sew on was my very first machine purchased in 1956, a Singer Featherweight. It is one of a few that has an open arm....It still sews like a little work horse and is perfect for travel....

This was my project ....a postage stamp quilt. A picture of the finished quilt above.. The squares are 1" finished. INTENSE sewing!!! I went as far as I could and then got out my beads and worked on an angel doll for

Pat Winter's Comfort Doll Project

Decisions, decisions!!

Heather made this quilt to send overseas to the soldiers...Each one of is going to do one eventually, and they will all be different.... This one has the canadian flag in the centre of the log cabin... Very effective in the red and white.Hopefully it will bring comfort to a soldier far from home...

Fitting time.....

We sewed late into the night.... the fun just went on and on and on and...........

A Fun Time at Retreat

Hi everyone,
Thought you might like to see what we "Mellow Yellows" do when we get away on our own...
This place is a little bit of heaven for us and has turned into an annual event for the past few years. We love our time to-gether here. It is so quiet and peaceful, far from the maddening crowd. There are many different buildings on the property and are spread out over many acres. We always stay in the "House of Prophet" which suits our needs. We bring gifts for each other, each person is responsible for making one meal, and we have time to rest or read or just daydream!!. Of course we bring our sewing machines, projects to work on and generally have a wonderful time to-gether.I feel so blessed to have these women as my friends. They mean the world to me.... so come on in and check us out!!

"Passion Continued"

Aren't these a nice shape for a tote??!! Perfect for that shopping spree coming up.. Not too too big, but large enough to carry your personal needs as well as some parcels. All my bags include a generous inside pocket or two and a cell phone pocket... Couldn't forget that now Could I!
I have some others to show you but they are for my Mellow Yellow gal pals. We are off to a retreat and we give each other goodie bags full of all kinds of fun things.... One of my treat is..ahem.... don't tell.... (shhhhh...... )

Another Passion of Mine

I Just "LOVE" bags and am always trying new designs, I especially like this style as it has a drawstring enclosure at the top. Perfect for keeping everything safe inside.

More Fun

I love making Journal Covers and these are a couple of my latest. Underwater Theme was done with my Baby Lock Embellisher, and the other two were done on my Baby Lock Machine that has an embroidery unit. I just Love both of these machines, they give me many hours of enjoyment and HEY!!!! isn't that what creativity is all about!! ;-} So please excuse me while I get back to "enjoying" myself ;-}
