June Bead Journal Project

Finally getting around to posting a picture of my BJP for June.

Had trouble getting a theme going . I was humming this song one day and the lightening bolt struck!!!.......Song Titles....

As you probably have guessed this one is "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"...bluebirds fly...etc....

The beading along the one side will be on each of the 12 pieces. Gives me a place to join them all to-gether.

I will be making a nice cover to house them in at the end.

I have July and August in the works so stay tuned :0)

Pin Doll Swap#3

Here is my third doll pin for the swap.. The colors are not showing true in the picture. The face is an atiqued teal, and the beads are multi colored with shades of teal/blue/burgundy and iris. I think the color is called dark blue iris.... then I used silver beads as an accent and silver charms complete the picture.

These have been so much fun, I will do more but first i better get back to my BJP.

Pin Doll Swap#2

Hi Everone.... Happy Labour Day....
I'm not involved in anything special this week-end. The weather is beautiful and sunny and I will take it all in later when I go for a walk.
Meanwhile I am happily working in my studio with my beads to-day.
Just finished a second pin doll. I tried to do something different and really like the way this one turned out. After I got the face done I tried to visualize what beads would be suitable....
After MANY auditions!!!! I found I had a delica assortment called "salt&pepper" PUUURFECTTT!
So there you have it!! I will try to get one more pin doll done but can't promise as I have another challenge to finish up this week. Stay tuned.

Pin Doll Face Swap

Got the back on my pin doll. I am quite happy with it, all signed and dated and on to the next.
I plan on making a couple more as I had such fun with this one.

Beaded Face Exchange, 2007

Goodmorning ,
Well Here it is! I worked on the face pin lastnight after my company left.
I got going and was having such a good time I didn't realize the time and ended up finishing around 4am!! LOL
I am very happy with the pin which was my first effort. I haven't attatched the pin back yet, but I will do that later.Thought I would leave that part when I was fresh and rested!!!!! Whenever that is??!!
Can't wait to do another one!!!! Beading is Soooooooo addictive VBG

Art Doll Pin

Goodmorning to everyone...
I am about to begin my first art doll pin. It will be used for an exchange I am taking part in.
I have provided a picture for you to see. I decided to do it in silver, pewter and crystal beads along with some pretty gray glass pearls. The face which is mounted on gray ultra suede, is finished in a siver tone and I tried to crackle it but that didn't show up very well. I wonder if the metallic finishes don't take to that surface too well?... Still got a pretty nice color in the end.

I wanted to get started right away but....... there is always a "but"...... I am having company to-day, so the beading will have to wait for now.....
Better run now, and get things ready.....LOL

The Color Orange

Lots of fun...... I am trying out the "blog" for the first time...... So here goes!!!

The photo is of a beaded doll I just finished. It was a challenge on one of the beaded doll online groups I belong to. The challenge was to use the color orange, which is not always one we use very often... I must say I was pleased with the outcome.

The shape was to represent a hand mirror .... so on the back side I used a CD which I cut into a circle(gotta heat the CD with a heat gun to make it pliable enought to cut without shattering, but then you knew that didn't you!)
