Miniature Scene

I had to do a miniature piece for a silent auction and this is what I decided on.

The piece itself (4''x4")was done with my embellishing machine, needlepunching the basic scene with wool rovings. Then I used my sewing machine to put in some birch trees, and finally finishing it with a bit of tatting , embroidery and beads..

I was pretty happy with it and proceeded to find a nice frame for it.

WELL..... after struggling to get it framed I could NOT get it to look centred. Don't know if it is because of the puzzle shape or what but it was not to be.

So.... I needlepunched it to another piece of wool and trimmed around the edge to look like a frame??!!??!! Since I photographed it on a black background, you cant see the black frame around the piece!

I applied a hanger on the back and considered it done!

Perhaps I will set this aside and do something else!

Bird's Nests

I was talking to Pat Winter about the bird's nests as I wanted to make some. I decided I would make a pin out of it rather than a ribbon for wearing around the neck..

This is my first and as you can see I need a bit more practice..... I also think I need a heavier wire.... but gosh they are really fun..

A Flock of Tweeties!

Here are the Tweeties I have done to date... Cute little bunch I think!

TWEETY BIRD

I don't know what it is about birds, birds nests and eggs....

Whatever the attraction I love them all.

I was trying to design a cute birdie pin for an upcoming studio tour. Nice to have some smaller items to sell.... I was inspired by "Twitter" where I am a member...

So The birdies will all be blue....

I was thinking about what Pat Winter said about submitting our work to some of the fibre art magazines, so I may just do that.. Meanwhile tell me how you like "Tweety Bird"?

SEQUINS!!!!

I was in town yesterday and look what I bought!!

I think I was a Magpie in another life as I LOVE anything bright and shiny.. My signature line is "Life's Short....Wear Sequins!!" so are you surprised that this handbag took my eye?!?!?

The leather is silver and is braided in such an intricate way and acts as an overlay to the sequins underneath...

I'm Lovin' it and obviously it is an eye catcher as I had a few ladies stop me and showered compliments!! hee hee LOL

The Honey-Dew List!

I have been reminding DH about the things on the "Honey-Dew" list... This was one of them...

I never knew a deck needed washing until I heard someone talking about it...So I put it on the "list!!! I can't believe how black it was getting from the weather

DH did a great job, now if it would stop raining we could get the staining done..!!,,,,,, sigh!.. Did I say "We?" VBG

Beadwork

Hi to all my dear blogging friends. I have not been here for awhile and I was missing everyone,

I can't believe it, but I contracted a bronchial virus 2 weeks ago and it has taken me all this time to bounce back. What is with all these medical problems I have had this year????????

.... I DO NOT belong to the disease of the month club! VBG

I hope from now on I can be just NORMAL for a change!!

While I was lacking energy I had to do something so I decided to do some beading. I am making a rope for this beautiful turquoise oriental medallion.. Isn't it pretty! The beading takes quite awhile but well worth it. It is one of my favorite ropes to bead.

Thought you might like to see this along with an update...

See you again soon with more creative things.

New Listing

Goodmorning everyone..

Haven't done much posting lately.... You know how it is... life just gets in the way.

I am happy to report my doctor checked my arthritis pain this week and I now have a medication that has stopped the pain. My hands and shoulders were so sore I could not type very much let alone sew or create.

I have new-found energy now that I am feeling better.

I Joined Artfire quite awhile ago and I finally got around to adding some things to my ARTFIRE page.
I will add more in time as I am now able to get back to the drawing board.

We are finally getting summer in Southern Ontario and the gardens are looking good, not only to me but to the rabbits.... Seems Blood Meal does not discourage them!!!! sigh

Gee with this hot weather a swim would be nice..... well I guess not.... This was our pool when we lived in the city, but we moved to the coumtry and decided not to have a pool..... Now I think it was a bad choice as I swelter in the 90 degree weather...sigh..... well excuse me... I think I will either water the garden((HEE HEE, sneaky!!) or have a shower.....
Maybe I will just spend the afternoon in my air conditioned studio.......tra=la=tra=la=tra=lee
