Your Old Fashioned Name Is... |
|
Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.
The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.
The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

Hugs,
Noel
This is just wonderful, Maggie. I love the cheerful colors and the way the front will get "shaggy" -- it is fantastic.
Hi Noel and Jackie,
Thanks for taking a peek. Yes Noel I did feel a need for some sparles, hee hee... and that may happen yet!
I really liked the fit of the jacket and am thinking of making another one and putting the collar on #2. I thought something a little more dressy in blacks and perhaps a little animal print and sequins!! hee hee.
I think I better hit the pit as I have to get up early! at least I am getting a few things up on the blog and there is more to come when I have time.
((((hugs))))

Gorgeous jacket. It might be my second favorite ever. My daughter made me something like this a few years ago for Mother's Day. Her's has to be first, but yours is second. Great job.

Beautiful Jacket!!! I did not know there was batik in flannel. I was looking at that pattern, but I am
just learning and the collar scared me off. Might try without collar.
Doreen K.
Oh my the colours in your jacket are just beautiful. The combination glows. I love it.
Hi Gals, Here I go ablushin' again!!! Thanks for the nice compliments on the jacket. Now if I can ever put away the snow parka maybe I can wear it!!!!
BTW Doreen, this pattern is not a difficult one at all, Even the collar is not hard to do. I just chose not to use it this time, so I would definitely encourage you to go for this one. As for the batik flannel , the choices have just explosed in the recent past and there are so many beautiful colors to choose from. The flannel is so easy to sew too as it doesn't slip.
Yesterday I was on a shopping spree and I got some beautiful oriental fabric and another jacket pattern to keep me busy. This one is not flannel . I will put some pictures of what I intend on the Blog .Got all my fabric washed and ironed lastnight so I am all set to go.. Stay tuned and hope you all have a great day.
Hey Doreen,
If you do go ahead with this jacket and you have any questions feel free to email me and I will try to help.
((((hugs))))
