I made this beaded amulet bag and donated it to a silent auction. The proceeds will go to support Sakura House, a hospice in Woodstock Ontario. It always gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling to help out where needed.

Your Old Fashioned Name Is... |
|
Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.
The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.
The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

I love your angel...so pretty. I find our small house complete chaos:)
Very impressed with the clean oven! Glad you had a nice Christmas.
Happy New Year Maggie
I love butter tarts...and MUST make them each year or my sister and her husband are shocked not to get them. Maybe next year I'll send her towels... and make them wait til Valentine's day or something.. for a laugh. Try my recipe sometime... If I want to make them a bit runny... I add a big dollop of syrup.. Maple..or Roger's Golden... either one is lovely.
Have a great year Maggie...I love your angel and the bag is so pretty!

Your cookies look wonderful, I had a pretty good christmas but didn't really do any baking for once.
Hi Maggie, Happy New Year Friend such a lovely post. Sending you warm winter wishes and know I am thinking of you.
Happy New Year! (It's still January so I think I can still say that). I finally got home after a very long holiday with family and am trying to catch up with blogger pals.
Your cookies look great (I just pat mine into a circle and cut wedges - lazy me, lol). I've never heard of runny tarts. What is their flavor? Are they a custard of sorts?
