QUEEN OF HEARTS JOURNAL

I treated myself to an Baby Lock Embellisher Machine for my birthday in October, and believe it or not I didn't get around to using it until yesterday!!!!!
Well!!!!! I didn't realize what I was missing. I spent the day doodling around with the fabric and it started looking like a queen( In my mind anyway!), so I added a few hearts , a face cabochon and a hand.... some beads and VOILA this is what I ended up with.."QUEEN OF HEARTS" Isn't she lovely!!??
The Embellisher machine uses no thread It has a circle of 7 barbed needles, and when you step on the pedal it punches the fabric or wool rovings or any pretty bits you want to add onto the base fabric. It is embedded so tightly it won't come out ... imagine! and NO THREAD!! I can see where i will be having more fun with this in the future so stay tuned.... BUT what I really wanted to say was I will be including this Journal in my give-a-way for entering the reindeer contest. If you haven't played the game make sure you do so your name can go in the pot for the draw on New Year's Eve....GOOD LUCK.

Carefree and fun, you always find reasons to do a happy dance.

Why You're Naughty: That dark stint you had as Santa's private dancer.

My online friend Phyllis King has seen fit to "tag" me to play in this
blog game: I must list 7 random/weird things about me that perhaps nobody
knows. Then I tag 7 other blogger friends who must play "tag"
with me,(To you 7 I hope you are still my friend :-)...... and list 7 about themselves on their blogs; and also visit 7
friends of theirs and "tag" their blogs. This could go on forever!!!!!!
Here are 7 things about me that most folks don't know:

1.I LOVE to drink pickle juice.
2.I like to eat left-over pizza for breakfast.
3.I'm petrified to drive in the winter.
4. My Bedtime is usually 4 am.
5.I hate going in my bare feet.
6.I'm addicted to old movies.

The First Christmas Gift

Hello everyone
This is so beautiful and I send it to each of you with sincere wishes of joy and remembrance as to why we give gifts to those we care about at Christmas. May you be protected by heavenly grace and respect the giving you receive, and then with honor, pass your loving assistance to another.

Merry Christmas!

12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

The Origin of the Twelve Days of Christmas

There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me.

What in the worl d do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won't come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas?

Today I found out, thanks to the Internet.

From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics.

It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.

The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.

Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.

Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.

The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.

The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.

The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.

Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit: Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.

The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.

Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit: Love,
Joy , Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.

The ten lords a-leaping were the Ten Commandments.

The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.

The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.

So there is your history for today. This knowledge was shared with me and I found it interesting and enlightening and now I know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol.

The doll has an accordian book on the front and it i opens up with all kinds of encouraging words. Neat I thought. I beaded the fabric as well LOL

FRIENDS

I notice everyone that blogs has either dogs or cats.... Well I DON'T!!!
Not my choice really as we did have an adorable scottie dog named Angus for 9 years. When we lost him I just didn't have the courage to go through that agian , although now I am wanting!!! Trying to convince DH it's a GOOD THING!! so far he has ignored my plea! SOOOOOOO..... I produced my own companions..... The two cats .. called Sleepy, and Dozy (Since that's all they do!)keep me company in my studio...They don't require much care, and they let me rest my head on them when I am reading!!! Such sweeties.....:-)
Then I have a bench full of teddy bears which I have made along the way..... They don't contribute much either except their ability to decorate.Benny the black one is a show-off and had to wear his reindeer antlers for the picture!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hi everyone... I guess it's about time I added something new here.. I have been busy getting the house cleaning done and readying it for company. My DH puts up all the Christmas decorations. I just let him do his thing. One less activity for me!!and BTW I think he did a fine job :0)
We have BOXES of decorations from when we lived in the great big house. However since we downsized to a one floor abode which is an open concept, we don't have a lot of places to put things. I like how it looks.... cosy and Christmasy!!!!So here's some pictures to share...
