EMBELLISHER FUNSIES!
Hi Everyone,
Thought you might like to see me working on a journal cover using the Embellisher Machine. It is loaded with 7 needles and does a great job making fibre art....I'M IN LOVE WITH IT!!!! When you lay a piece of fabric or lace or anything you want to put down, you put the pedal to the metal and the needles punch the fibres to-gether with no chance of separating without a sruggle at least.
The possibilities are endless.I think you could decorate jeans or a jacket with this technique or heck..... even DH underwear,,HAHAHAHHAHAHA
This piece was done using felt as a background. I wouldn't use the felt for a journal cover again since it was too bulky at the corners to keep it neat. The Queen of Hearts was done on a broadcloth base and it was easier to get a nice sharp finish when sewing the corners.
The theme for this one was underwater and as soon as I sew some fish on the piece along with some beads I will post another picture so y'all come back!!

I hope I get to try out one of these machines someday. As you say, the possibilities are endless. You would not believe the archaic methods I use to do any of my crafts.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Cotton Picker...You would love it. The best part is they are coming down in price all the time..
Do you belong to any guilds? I know our embroidery guild has purchased 5 of them for the members to "borrow" Isn't that a great idea!
((((hugs)))))

Maggie, great pics of you embellishing! I love mine, too, but I need to find a way to stop breaking needles.
I've added your blog as a link to mine and have subscribed to yours! I adore your motto!
looks like a lot of fun you are having miss magpie:D
tammy in warm and snowless ct :(
Good Evening Ms. Maggie,
I love what you are sewing there. I bet it will be beautiful when you are done with it. I used to sew before I met my DH, but I don't sew anymore. I used to make some quilt tops and have someone else to do the quilting for me. "THANK YOU" for sharing this with us. I can't wait to see the finished product. I am so tired tonight as I've had a busy busy day today. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.
Hugs,
Karen H.
HI ladies...
Thanks for stopping by...
V.... Yes this embellisher is so much fun, when I am on it I forget I have other things to do!!!I wonder if you are pulling on your fabric causing the needles to break? I would suggest your spped should keep up with the movement of the fabric. Just a thought, I understand the needles are very expensive, so I hope you can solve the problem.
Hey Tammy..... No Snow??? Awe..boo hoo.... We don't have much left due to the rain and mild temps!! so I am doing the Happy Dance!!!!
I want the roads to stay dry as I go to the city on Monday for the cataract surgery!!!!! So far the MAN upstairs has been answering my prayers!
Hi Karen. Glad you like my efforts on the new machine?!! I had the journal cover all done and on the book. Didn't like the way it finished on the edges. I used felt as a base and it was too thick. so I took it off and cut out the centre and will apply it to another base, Something thinner.... Geer Whiz, all that work down the drain!!!! Oh welll I am too picky to let it go if I am not happy with it.
I should have taken a picture but I forgot!! It is an underwater scene and I will put some fish on it as well but I can;t find my fish fabric... WONDER WHY!!!haha
BTW Karen, no wonder you are tired. I was over at your blog and your day was certainly a busy one..
Sleep well as for me.. Oh nocturnal one that I am... I am just getting in gear!! hee hee
Big Bear Hugs to all
Maggie ;-}
It looks so pretty. I love the felting machines, and am trying to talk myself into needing one. I do enjoy the needle felting by hand.
...you go, girl !!!Your embellishing is going to be wonderful; isn't it THE most fun ever?!!Please share finished pix w/us as you felt merrily along thru the new year!
this is glorious! I wish-swish-punch-drool I was playing right along with you Maggie! xo, Monica
Ooooooh, this is lovely, Maggie.
I just have to get time to play with my machine -- I've had it several months and still haven't really played with it at all. Your beautiful work is an incentive to get going and give it a try ---- maybe next week LOL.
Hey Jackie, You sound like me!! It took me ages to find the time now I find it hard to do something else!! hee hee I will be on the look out for your adventures with the embellisher. BTW I joined a couple of online groups and am learning lots, plus I got a couple of books which have lots in them.
((((hugs))))
Maggie
