Salute to Vincent

I just finished another page for my Beaded Journal Project. My theme for this project is "Song Titles" and this one is "Starry Starry Night"

I admire Vincent VanGogh's work and I decided to use his work for this page. I love the song that goes with it too.

I think I should have chosen to work in a smaller size. The postcard size (4"x6") takes a long time to complete. However I am commited and I will see it through.

I am not a real experienced beader and I found achieving the swirls was a bit of a problem. I think I redid a few areas twice!!!! No fun there!

I am about 60% happy with the finished piece.

I think you did a wonderful job catching the movement that Vincent captured in his paintings.
You should be 100% happy with it!

I agree with Brenda... WONDERFUL job... Immediately, before reading a single word, I thought: Vincent - Starry, Starry Night. Great tribute!!!

Yes, I'm making 4 x 6 too... even though they're not solidly beaded, they still take a long time. I like the size though... big enough to get across multiple ideas. But yours is solidly beaded... That's an impressive achievement!

Maggie -- your interpretation of a masterpiece is a work of art itself! You did a lovely job. I think you'll be more than 60% happy after you get over the shock of all the beading! Gale

I love this piece! I knew right away from the little photo on the blog what it was! It is inspired! I vote 100%! It is beautiful!
I agree with the scale of pages .... I am doing 6"x6", and even though I'm not covering them with beads, they take some time to do.... next year I'll be doing something different..... and smaller! LOL!

Maggie this is beautiful. YOu achieved Vincent's "painterly" effects deliciously with your magic beading fingers. Absolutely yummy!
