wrist warmers

I was so taken with wrist warmers I just HAD to try making them..I came across the idea on Bella McBrides Blog.If you look on her Etsy site there you will find all kinds of patterns for these.

I made this pair in a pale pink wool using the victorian style. I beaded the cuff with seed pearls... aren't they sweet! I think they will look darling poking out of one of my jackets...You would be surprised how cosy and comforting they are to wear.... I'm going to make more in different colors....
I did make some before Christmas for gifts but forgot to take photos...

These are so pretty. I ordered a pattern from Bella before Christmas with great intentions, but never got to making any. This will be a New Year's project for me! Glad to hear they turned out well.

Hi Maggie, these look so cosy, I wonder if they would help my hands, if my wrists are warm, maybe the hands will work faster. I may have to have a go at making a pair. I tried using those gloves you buy the therapy ones, cant remember the proper name, they just make my hands sweat. Nasty. These could be just the thing. Ages since I crocheted. Used to love it.

Maggie, thank you so much for your kind words posted on my blog today, how very thoughtful of you!
I just adore these beautiful 'wrist warmers' you have made - ooooooooooooh! they are just soooo eccentric and wonderful!! I think they should become THE fashion wear of 2009 (lets face it with all the 'penny pinching and tightening of the purse strings globally we could all do with warming our wrists up eh?!).
I adore your dolls - oh to be able to sew or knit!! - I'm afraid my mothers' talents (she was a needlework teacher) passed me by BIG time..I love lots of other crafts, but me and a needle, well...!
Do come back and visit me again -I will drop in from time to time to see your creations...(may even write a feature about those darling wrist warmers if I may?!) I can't promise much on the sewing or stitching front, but there's usually something going on!
Take care & thanks again.

I am so sorry, I must have got so many blogs open at one time, and left a message thanking you on the wrong one, so my sincere apologies for my woopsy!
It goes without saying that your blog is still wonderful and I am somewhat lusting over your wrist warmers!! so much so I think they deserve a mention sometime very soon!
Take care and sorry for the slightly senior 'ish moment!! I'm still working my way around this blogging world of ours!
