ALWAYS LEARNING....

I took a workshop in Stump -Work which is a 3 dimensional embroidery. These are the 2 pieces I finished. I just need to have them stretched and framed.. I loved the journey making these but it can be a bit hard on the eyes!

The leaves are done on a wire as are the petals.. The bee is fuzzy and raised and the berries are done on a large pony bead. Here is a fabulous link featuring Jane Nicholas' work . It shows a lot of the techniques. I have 2 of her books.....Fabulous!

Beautiful work Maggie! I am patiently waiting on a book called Flower Fairies in Ribbon Embroidery and Stumpwork. I can't wait for it to get in. I have been wanting to learn stumpwork,,and I also believe this book has goldwork in it too. Can't wait to get to learning this beautiful technique.

Ahhh my 'life is short, wear sequins' friend! I still love that!

I got your comment regarding not being able to follow my blog. I pulled up my blog to check it out and lo and behold NO POSTS - all gone. Fortunately they hadn't completely disappeared into cyberspace! PHEWWWW

I don't know what the problem is. I've been trying to follow The Vintage Moth for a month now and the same thing happens to me. No 'Follow this Blog' to click. I am going to contact blogger and see what I can find out. Thanks for bringing it to my attention and thanks for followin'....er ...trying to!

I'll let you know what I find out!
