Angelbelle.

I am excited about this doll I will be teaching at one of the local quilt shops in October,2008.

Last year the shop hosted a group of Russian quilters for a week. It was a gala event attended by hundreds. It was there I took the russian doll class (in a previous post). This year the owners have just returned from Africa where they were organizing another event for their shop. The theme of course will be Africa and there will be workshops running all week, along with displays and vendors. There will be teachers coming from Africa as well. It is a very exciting time for this little town of Ailsa Craig, Ontario Canada.
I have been invited to teach this particular doll which is a Julie McCullough design. A few years ago I made this angel doll for their shop, and she has been perched atop bolts of fabric overlooking the shop all along. Normally I would use more angelic fabrics, but because it will be an "African" theme,I thought I would make an"African " sample and I had this terrific fabric just sitting here waiting to be used. Isn't it perfect?!?! I really love the finished look. I think the kits that will be offered will be more traditional , but I am going to have a draw in my class and one of the students will go home with this doll. I am really looking forward to the event.
I will have lots of pictures to share when the time comes .

Magpie - this doll is so cool. I love how she is so different - the black fabric with the headpiece and earrings coupled with her long slender body, frilly yet oh so colorful dress - what a unique "vision" she is. Her name Angelbelle is a wonderful representation of her spirit. She is lovely.

Hi Phyl,
Yes I have been busy, Thanks for peeking at my doll. The bodice is a beautiful lace which I used some fabric dye on to match. It looks good eh?!
Today is not so much fun. Did some laundry and hung it out.... Very Cold Wind but sunny! The bedding will smell heavenly!!
Then DH is doing my income tax and I have had to dig up some info for him!!
Never a dull moment. I am so hungry to-day, I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation!!!! haha

Hi Morning Dove.
Good to see you this morning! Thanks for your compliments on the doll. I do enjoy the doll making but honestly with so many interests it is hard to home in on just onee thing for long. Hope to work on some more dolls soon. Funny you mentioned FAT. I have been thinking I should see what you gals are up to over there. I promise to pop by soon. I haven't been doing much surfing lately and I have a lot of blogging to catch up.... Have a great day and I hope all is well.
