Artist Sale at the Elmhurst
Here I am at my table of goodies.
These events are always fun as I get to see people I would not otherwise connect with.
The weather was not good.
Thunderstorms and heavy rain made me happy I was inside.
Some of the artists were outside under their canopys....Not fun!
Since this was a summer event, the sales were not too good.
I did manage to sell almost one of everything so I was pleased.
I will be putting some things in my Etsy shop later to-day and will let you know.

Finally Caught Up.
I have been out of commission for a bit on the verge of insanity... No kidding..
It was brutal.
My doctor is on holidays so I went to Emerge.
I had a rash all over my chest and legs.
It was so itchy I thought I would lose my mind!
Turns out I had a Yeast Skin Rash.... never heard of it before but apparently common to diabetics..Guess it loves "sugar"(me too<3)
I have been on Prednisone along with a steroid ointment.
The prednisone shoots my blood sugar off the chart, so I have been on insulin for now.Hope to get back to my usual oral meds this week.
Happy to report I am OK now..Just another bump in the road of life.
After all this I finally got back to my work and finished up these dolls. The order was weighing heavily on my mind but I just had no time to sew since my hands were busy scratching!
And.. here are the Raggedy Anns. They are regaining their popularity happy to say. They encourage imagination which seems to be a lost cause nowadays...
The hair is individual strands hand knotted and does take awhile but it's there to last forever!!
So now with all that off my list I have some playtime.
I was looking at some Utube bits on Zentangles and find that very fascinating, I will show you what I learned later..
I have been working on some more journals and some fibre art pieces and inbetween I am continuing to clean out cupboards and closets...ICK!.. but a necessary evil!
Needless to say I continue to amuse myself daily and will share my progress as time permits..
Thank you for stopping by and leaving comments.
I look forward to your visits which always makes me smile. <3

Fun With Dolls
I have been working on some dolls ......Variety is the spice of life so "They" say :)
The first picture is of some pin dolls... called "Wild Women".
They measure 2 1/2" tall.
They are so much fun to do and being creative...... the sky's the limit.
These tiny dolls are called Waldorf Dolls.. measuring 2" tall.
No features and all hand done..
They rest in a sweet little leaf that I have hand embroidered.
THey are made from wool felt and the leaf fits in the palm of your hand.
So Sweet and the little people just love them.

A Watercolor Journal in Shocking Pink Silk
I had such a time trying to get this picture to go the right way...sigh!
Anyway after wasting too much time I'm sure you can figure out that the bottom of the picture is where it opens and the gold stripe is the bottom. That being said the Journal has 60 pages of 140 coldpress watercolor paper and measures 9 1/2 " wide and 6 1/2 " long.
I was gifted with some sari silk fabric with goldwork on it. I have had it for quite awhile wondering what special thing I would use it on. This idea seemed to fit the bill. Thank you to Phllis King for this fabric. The back of the journal has a lovely flocked silk fabric
It wasa perfect match in color.
I used a very pretty batik for the inside. The journal has three sewn in sinatures.....lots of room for some watercolor paintings..
The closure is a special gold button I have been saving forever and since I had no cord that seemed right I made a cord out of some of the silk and sewed it with gold thread..
I think that is all I can tell you about this beautiful journal(If I do say so myself:)))))
If I don't sell this one it will be in my Etsy shop next week.

Another Bag
When I saw this fabric I fell in love :)
I paired it with a faux yellow leather and Voila!!!!
It looks so summery.
I should have taken a photo of the inside but I forgot
It has one large zippered pocket and one small zippered pocket. Lots of room for everything. I hope I sell it at the Artist Sale this week-end.

MORE Journals
As some of you know I have been making some leather covered mini journals.
The smaller ones are 2 1/2" and I gave them a key chain attatchment...
The bigger ones are about 3 3/4" . I used a ruler to give an idea of the size. They contain cold press watercolor paper and would be ideal for the artist on the go for thumbprint sketches.
