Hi Maggie

Love your bear collection! I used to make and sell bears a long time ago. I think it's been more than 20 years. And when I was in high school, I made Holly Hobbie dolls and sold those.

Oh these are wonderful! You made the bears too? I made some muslin rabbits once, I can't imagine trying to work with faux fur... That might be interesting though...

Hi Everyone,
So happy you dropped in to see what I have been up to..
Yes gals, I make bears too.. when you live as long as I have you will have tried just about everything!! ROTFL ;-}
Marva working with faux fur is fun ... working with real fur is a nightmare.
Customers use to bring me fur coats and want bears made from them!!! I did this for a few times and finally decided enough already... The underfur is so fine and flies all over the place no matter how carefully you cut the pelts. The first headache was taking the coat apart.. If ever you do you will see how complicated it is to make a fur coat..(lets just let the animals have their own coats). I had to wear a mask, goggles, long pants and sleeves and believe me my studio was a hairball!!!!! I gotta say the bears were gorgeous when finished and now I do have memories!!I have a white mink coat hanging in my closet that I now use for bits here and there on my dolls, and every once in awhile I am tempted to do a bear .... Not likely to happen!!!
xoxo
